The Process

Initially I will invite you to a consultation at my art & photographic studio set in the beautiful Kent countryside, just to the south-west of Ashford to discuss what you have in mind, and, I can show you my portfolio of work to give you some idea of the styles that can be achieved.

My studio is cosy & comfortable and I have an extensive range of lighting available to ensure that you look your very best in front of camera. There is a changing & make-up room available (so bring your favourite outfit) and should you require any help with your make-up for the camera then I will be happy to offer you free & friendly advice & assistance.

I will then take a series of up to 100 images – which you will be able to see pop-up on the large wall-screen alongside the shooting area in ‘real-time’ as they are taken. Different high & low-key lighting effects can be employed to create a few different ‘looks’ as we go along.

Following the photoshoot, I will ‘tweak’ the images using state-of-the-art software and (usually within 72 hours) will send you a link to where you will be able to view the images on-line. If you prefer, I can send you a USB memory-stick with the images for you to view.

Once you have perused all your images, I will invite you to let me know which is your favourite for me to start work on producing your final portrait. Depending upon how busy my schedule is at the time, I should be able to do so within 10-14 days with a view to producing your finished artwork within around 28 days of your studio sitting.

Generally, I find that an A2 size artwork is perfect for most people’s requirements as this provides for a nicely-sized framed & mounted finished portrait, but other sizes are available upon request (prices may obviously differ for larger sizes).

On completion of your portrait I can either post it to you carefully rolled & sealed in a sturdy cardboard postal tube or of course, you are very welcome to collect it in person.

If collecting in person then I can arrange for your finished artwork to be framed at very competitive prices ready for wall-hanging – or presenting to someone as a gift. A selection of frames & mounts are available – samples & prices can be viewed at my studio.

Finally, I will be happy to provide you with your favourite twenty of the photographic images taken at my studio as digital files with simple re-touching such as skin-smoothing & blemish removal included. So, you effectively get a set of professionally-taken photographs to use as you wish at no extra charge!

Additional copies of portraits can be commissioned if you wish but obviously each will be a ‘one-off’ original artwork and will differ slightly as no two are exactly the same. Prices vary according to how many people are in each portrait (individuals, couples & family groups are all welcome).
